Extreme Barcelona celebrates its 18th anniversary with the most ambitious sports program in its history, cementing its status as Europe's largest urban sports event. The festival will bring together over 500 athletes from more than 40 countries, feature four Olympic disciplines, and once again turn Barcelona into the international epicenter of urban sports.
This edition’s sports lineup reflects the festival’s evolution, offering a broader and more diverse schedule that combines international competitions, Olympic disciplines, and emerging urban sports trends. In total, Extreme Barcelona will host nearly 30 competitions featuring men's, women's, and mixed categories, reaffirming its commitment to an increasingly diverse and inclusive event.
Featured among the schedule are four Olympic sports: BMX Freestyle, Skateboarding, Breaking, and 3x3 Basketball. They will share the spotlight with other festival mainstays such as Scootering, Para BMX Street, Street Football, and Synkro Race, forming one of the most comprehensive sports rosters in the event’s history.
Once again, the Parc del Fòrum esplanade will serve as the centerpiece stage for Extreme Barcelona. Over three days, the venue’s 18,000+ m² footprint will host international sports competitions alongside a wide range of entertainment and activities for all audiences. Highlights include a market area with a record number of exhibitors, food trucks, urban culture activities, workshops, and interactive spaces where visitors can try out several featured disciplines firsthand.

From day one, we have committed not only to hosting the competition, but also to building urban sports infrastructure and targeted programs that have nurtured talent like Daniela Terol, among others. Throughout these 18 years, we have introduced new disciplines so families can discover and experience unique sports completely free of charge,” noted David Escudé, Barcelona’s Sports Councillor.

This year we are giving the festival a new boost with four new disciplines and our most ambitious sports program yet. Our goal is to keep growing and surpass the 2025 attendance figures, establishing Extreme Barcelona as one of Europe’s premier urban sports events. Once again, we will transform the 18,000+ m² of Parc del Fòrum into a hub for sports, urban culture, and entertainment designed for families, fans, and visitors to enjoy a unique experience. Because beyond the competition, the public is always the real star of Extreme Barcelona.”

With an expanded sports program, new disciplines, and a growing international presence, Extreme Barcelona 2026 kicks off a new edition aiming to continue establishing itself as a benchmark urban sports festival in Europe while breaking previous records for athlete participation and public attendance.
